Rumour: Destiny of Spirits | PS4 Exclusive by From Software (Dark Souls Devs)

SONY is focused too much on hardcore gamers, who only make up a small fraction of the entire gaming population. SONY should focus on ways to make money like pay2play multiplayer and dancing games instead of hardcore BS like this.

Me and my son are hardcore gamers. Sony will steal nearly all of them away from elsewhere with PS4 and rule the gaming world. 

And it will sell like sh!t and From Software will again prefer multiplatform development and nothing will change.Zeviander

I already posted in that other thread yesterday about this very same topic. I posted a lot more than I will post here.

The Last time Sony teamed up with From it was epic, so I'm looking forward to this next gen game.

All I know is Demon's Souls was amazing back when it released.

Consider me interested.

You can say that about any new platform. Why bother releasing any games at all on any new console then? :?

I doubt this is a launch game anyway. Probably just an announcement and initial teaser for E3 at best. If Sony is picking up the tab for this one, they might see it as a minor system seller early in the console's life span.

That's actually true. There is less to choose from early on, so even though there will just be a few million consoles available, people will be looking for games for those consoles. A "hit" game can still sell millions of copies.

Plus even for mature consoles with 10x the amount of "installed base". At some point software sales peak, and those "installed" units get put away for good. Pretty sure we are already getting into the "decline" phase for PS3/360 anyway, and that will accelerate rapidly once the new consoles hit. Not everyone can just "save" games for when they think the next console will hit it's peak. They just have to keep doing business and hope this game is a hit like the 1st one was. If not, they will just have to do another one. :o

this is the only game on PS4 that i am interested about so far. Must see some gameplay

i dont think it is a successor of demon souls. either way a dark/demon souls is a known given that it will eventually get a ps4 release im a more hoping of a game like otogi. that was a great game, from software has a great record and imo i find them the best developers this gen. can wait to see destiny of spirits it will rock.

They just revealed it on GT lol its a F2P game for the Vita. Looks meh.

Well, PC has nothing in JRPGs, so how would anyone be done with consoles ?

All PC RPGs i want are on consoles (or run on old PCs for kickstarter ones) and PC has zero of the JRPGs i want

So it is actually PC that is completly useless to me

If this rumor is true, i will pre-order a PS4 the moment it is is available

It does seem odd that they'd be working on two games at once, they're not that big a studio. Maybe Destiny of Souls is the old working title for Dark Souls II? Doesn't seem likely given how long ago it was announced and how recent this rumor is, but it wouldn't surprise me terribly either.

That being said, I hope it is a new game and more in the vein of Demon's Souls than Dark Souls. For whatever reason the later just didn't appeal to me nearly as much, if they did it in a more enclosed/claustrophobic/disorienting locale like King's Field I probably would have liked it better though.

What a boner killer that was.
